David Seng
Barista Trainer Profile
Starting his coffee career in 2004, head barista trainer, David Seng has worked in some of Melbourne’s best coffee companies including Veneziano Coffee and St ALi family.
David’s teaching philosophy and style have been greatly influenced and shaped by his mechanical engineering background. With a deep understanding of science and more than a decade of experience in the specialty coffee industry, David blends science and craft to create classes that are fun and easy to follow.
For over 15 years, David has been a professional barista and has competed and judged at the highest levels of coffee competitions in Australia. David actively mentors and coaches a select few professional baristas throughout the year.
In 2019, David certified as a World Barista Championship sensory judge. Later that year, David was elected to the Board of Directors for the Australian Specialty Coffee Association (ASCA) and also serves as Head of the Barista Guild.
David’s experience and expertise in coffee have led international and Australian companies to engage his services in their pursuit of coffee excellence.
